Our plastic surgeon is here to help you understand the options you have when it comes to breast augmentation.
Depending on your needs, there are a number of options when it comes to breast augmentation.
From the type of incision made to the type of breast implant used, your surgeon will help you understand your options, so you can make the one that's right for you.
First of all there are different types of implants: saline, silicone gel, and high-strength silicone gel implants. While saline implants can feel like water balloons, silicone gel implants have a more natural look and feel.
In addition, your surgeon can make her incisions under the crease of the breast, under the areola, or under the arm. She will then place the implants either under the muscle or above it depending on your particular case. After placing the implants, she will close the incisions with sutures.
Breast augmentation takes anywhere from two to three hours and is performed under general anesthesia. You will need to wear special compression garments to reduce swelling. Total recovery time will be around two to three weeks.
